At the heart of the locality is Winchmore high ground Green, a village green enclosed by shops and bistros. Of particular note in Winchmore high ground is Groveland’s book which was originally a private land parcel before being partially traded off to the assembly in 1913. The part residual in personnel hands now comprises the Priory Clinic, which hosted General Pinochet while he was in the UK awaiting allegations from the Spanish government.

Winchmore Hill is established in the Parliamentary constituency of Enfield Southgate. It is held by some that, in the 1997 General Election, the incumbent constituent of assembly Michael Portillo lost his chair in part due to the proposal to assemble a McDonald's bistro in Green roadways on the position of the former years house cautious association, behind residences in Elm reserve street. The bistro was not ever constructed, but the position is now used by by an impede of up to date luxury suites next to a Tesco articulate shop and ESSO service station.
